With ESP there is a possibility of continuous control of production processes by a computer control system. The system is very flexible – it can quickly adapt to changing tasks or individual parameters. It is very often used in heavy industry and engineering.

A CRP system is to determine, measure, analyze and adjust the level of resources load to the production capacity of a given company in specific time periods. The results are usually obtained by means of a balance sheet, which tells whether it is necessary to supplement production capacity, change production assumptions, or perhaps abandon certain schedule items. The final decision on this issue is made by the planner or production manager.

MRP system is material needs planning which includes a set of processes and solutions that enable to determine the material needs on the basis of information concerning the structure of the given product, stock levels, orders and the whole production. APS system is another IT tool, whose primary task is automatic planning and detailed scheduling of production orders in real time. Through complex calculations and balances, the production plan can be optimized according to the initial assumptions.
