The General Directorate has published another batch of data on heavy transport traffic in Poland. By comparing them with previous periods, we can draw some surprising conclusions. Has the transport really been hit the hardest?
The latest data concerns the average daily heavy goods vehicle traffic in the period from 8 to 14 March. Comparing it with the previous week and similar periods in previous years, it turns out that heavy traffic is still going up. How does it look numerically?
In a week-on-week comparison this year, heavy traffic is at a similar level, but if we consider 2020, it turns out that heavy traffic is up by as much as 7%! This is great news for the trucking industry – increases like this are welcome, especially during an economic downturn.
And what if we consider 2019? The situation looks even better. The difference in truck traffic volume is as much as 11% (4263 and 4745 respectively). The data indicate a stable development of transport.
The data of the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways comes from 32 automatic traffic measurement stations.
