The long May weekend, so much awaited by all barbecue fans, is behind us. Unfortunately, not everyone could enjoy the meeting with their loved ones. Truck drivers do not have an easy life. Wednesday, Friday or Sunday, the route calls. How did the heavy transport in the official statistics?

Recently, the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways published data on heavy transport during the May weekend and compared it with the corresponding collections for last week and previous years. Interestingly, when comparing the week-to-week data from this year, heavy traffic fell by as much as 4%

Compared to 2020, heavy traffic increases are up as much as 42% – a result related to the epidemiological situation and the top-down restriction on movement. It’s nice to see that the world is slowly returning to normalcy

The data shown are from 31 automatic traffic measurement stations from the week of April 26 to May 2, 2021
